What Does A Financial Advisor Do?

When you boil it right down, a good Financial Advisor helps you reach your financial goals. We help you grow your money and protect it when life goes sideways.

A Financial Advisor provides guidance and advice to clients with almost anything related to finance.

We help people with:

  • Making decisions on what type of investments and investment vehicles to use
  • What type of coverages they need
  • How to save for long and short term goals
  • Budgeting
  • Tax efficiencies

The list goes on and on.

Why Choose Rexford Financial Services?

That’s the $1,000,000 question, isn’t it? With all the Advisors and Finfluencers out there, why choose us?

Is this where we toot our own horn a bit?

We could start off by saying Mike Bissett has his Certified Financial Planner designation which, according to FP Canada means he has, “demonstrated the knowledge, skills, experience and ethics to examine clients’ entire financial picture, at the highest level of complexity required of the profession,” but we don’t think the fancy letters beside someone’s name should convince you to do business with them.

Along with the CFP designation comes a fiduciary responsibility to our clients. We have to do what’s in your best interest, always. Not everyone in this industry can say that.

We could also mention that we don’t work for a large company or institution. There is no “boss” or company telling us to push certain products. This is our shop. The only people we work for are our clients.

All that said, the biggest advantage to working with us is in the relationship we build.

This business is all about relationship building. Knowing what funds to pick or what type of insurance to use is important, sure, but knowing YOU is more important. We strive to build and maintain a great relationship with every client. That way, we’re able to get to know you and what’s important to you on a much deeper level and, together, we can build a plan that is tailored to you and your individual needs.

Mike isn’t a cookie-cutter Advisor; you’re not going to get a cookie-cutter plan with Rexford Financial Services.

FAQs:

Can I use a Financial Advisor if I don’t have a lot of disposable income?
Absolutely!  We build plans for people of all income levels.

Do you help with life insurance?
We do.  Mike has his LLQP license which allows him to work with several different types of insurance.

How much do you charge?
We don’t charge our clients for services.  The practice has been structured so that we’re paid by the companies we place business with.  We don’t charge clients directly for anything.

Do you help clients with debt?
Sort of.  “Paying off debt” is a pretty common goal for a lot of people. We can help with strategies on how to pay down debt efficiently; however, we don’t deal with Consolidation Loans or Consumer Proposals, etc.
